3 Tips on Dealing with Feeling Overwhelmed

1 minutes read

Tip 1: Brain Dump

Studies have shown that our cognitive ability is limited to holding up to 4 pieces of information at a time.

This is why remembering meeting notes, deadlines, and home errands can make it difficult to engage in creative and deep work.

To alleviate this, use a notes app like Apple Notes or Notion to offload your thoughts.

Tip 2: Prioritize

Every day there's something new trying to get your attention.

Only when you list everything you need to do and review these items, can you identify what is actually important to you.

Highlight your most important tasks and put them on a different list, or move less important tasks to a 'Someday' list for the future.

Tip 3: Break It Down

We often feel overwhelmed or procrastinate because the process appears daunting and lengthy.

However, most tasks can be broken down into smaller, more manageable steps.

Once you start and build momentum with these small tasks, you'll find it's not as hard as you thought.

Tool of the Week: Second Brain

Feeling overwhelmed by information? It might be time to build your Second Brain.

Learn how I use Notion as my Second Brain in my full video walkthrough. You can watch it here:

Let your preferred notes app or your “Second Brain” do the remembering, and free your mind to produce higher quality work.
